Who might find it hard to join in now, and why?

How to teach persuasive writing

Notice the places

Take a short walk, real or imagined, around the school. Where can everyone take part easily, and where might someone be left out?
Choose one change

Students choose one place, event or activity and one realistic change to it. The more specific the change, the stronger the argument.
Write with respect

Talk about writing about people respectfully: focus on what would help, use people’s own words where you can, and avoid guessing how others feel.
