Are the videos really free?
Yes. Every video is free to watch, with nothing to pay and no account to make. Put your email in once and all 43 open in this browser. On another device, put the same email in again.
Who are they for?
Students in Years 3 to 9, and the teachers and families who help them write. There are two sets: one for Years 3 to 6, and one remade for Years 7 to 9 with older students and longer stories.
Can a student put in their own email?
Please ask a grown-up to. The email should be a teacher’s, or a parent’s or carer’s. Students don’t need an email or an account to watch.
Can I play them in class?
Yes, that’s what they’re made for. Play one on the board straight from this page, with captions on if you like. Each is short enough to watch together and talk about.
Are these official NAPLAN videos?
No. Writing Boost made them. They quote the 2026 NAPLAN writing marking guide, which ACARA publishes under a CC BY 4.0 licence. Writing Boost is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ACARA.
What happens to my email?
