Step by step
Getting started, step by step
Open the new Writing Boost workspace
Choose the new experience from your account menu.
- Sign in with your existing school account. If it opens in the current experience, open the account menu and choose Try the new experience.
- Your account role determines the workspace you can access. Switching experiences keeps your existing account and school permissions.
- The account menu in the new workspace also offers Return to current experience. If you cannot find the switch, ask your school administrator or contact support; students should ask their teacher.
Sign in to Writing Boost
Find the right place to log in and access your school workspace.
- Open the Writing Boost app using the link below. Use the account or sign-in instructions provided by your school.
- Students who do not have their sign-in details should ask their teacher. Teachers who need school access can check with their school’s Writing Boost administrator.
- If you can sign in but cannot see the expected class or workspace, ask your school administrator to check your access.
Plan your first writing session
A simple way to introduce the writing and feedback cycle.
- Choose a short writing task with one clear learning focus. Use a ready-made prompt or a task connected to your classroom learning.
- Give students time to plan and write in their own words. Introduce the writing tools as support for their thinking.
- Build in time to read feedback and make one purposeful revision. Finish by discussing what changed and why.
Book a demo for your school
See the student, teacher, and school views with our team.
- Book a school demo to see how Writing Boost could fit your teaching and learning priorities.
- Bring questions about your year levels, writing program, and how teachers currently use feedback.
- The school plan includes Writing Boost and Spelling Boost. Ask about your year levels, onboarding and classroom rollout. You can also see school pricing without booking a demo.
The short version
Good to know.
-
Name a school lead
Choose a contact for account access, class information and rollout decisions, with a teaching lead to help staff share what they learn.
-
Confirm who’s taking part
Agree the year levels, classes and staff. Check each person can reach the workspace and information their role needs.
-
Try a classroom device
Check sign-in, writing and audio on the browser and network students will use, including any assistive technology.
-
Choose a manageable focus
One task and one learning intention, with time for feedback, a purposeful revision and a short conversation about the change.
